The straightforward desktop app for bills of quantities, quotations and the accounts of a job as it is built. On Mac and Windows. Your data stays on your computer.
For macOS and Windows · works with no internet connection · nothing leaves your machine
For anyone who measures and prices work from a schedule of rates — building, refurbishment and conservation, building services, public works: surveyors, engineers, architects, cost consultants, conservation specialists and contractors. Practical people who want to get the job done, not argue with the software.
No compulsory cloud: projects stay on your computer. No forced sign-up, nothing sent over the network.
A clean interface you can learn in an afternoon. Switch on only the sections you need: you see only what you use.
Import your own list from CSV, XLSX or PDF and search it instantly. Italian public price lists are built in and searchable in every edition.
From the bill of quantities to the maintenance plan: every document of the project, exportable to PDF and Word.
For contractors: turn the bill of quantities into an offer with your logo, ready to put in front of the client.
One purchase, use it on both. Fast and light software, not a heavyweight management system.
Design stage, site accounts and quotations — in one program, with no cloud subscription.
Items from a price list or typed in by hand, dimensions (number, length, width, height/weight), sections, safety costs and labour content.
Instant full-text search, import of your own price list from CSV, XLSX or PDF, and the Italian public price lists ready to use.
On your letterhead with your logo: items from the bill or from your price list, client address book, discount, VAT and validity of the offer.
Interim valuations, measurement book, site account register and payment certificate. The whole account of the job, with no separate module.
Project budget, schedule of rates, rate analysis, labour incidence, reports with photographs, maintenance plan, site supervision records, comparisons, rebar and volumes.
Every document goes out to PDF, Word or Excel in one click, ready for issue or for a last revision.
PDFs come out as PDF/A, the archiving format: they carry their fonts inside and stay legible, identical, for years. Every accounting document leaves a fingerprint, and a digitally signed file is traced back to its original. How we answer Allegato II.14.
Export a project to a file and bring it back on another computer. Simple, no cloud, no surprises.
Switch off the sections you do not use: the interface shows only what that job needs.
Every project exports to documented JSON, and bills of quantities import and export in the XPWE interchange format used by the main Italian costing packages. No lock-in.
Italian public contracts prescribe the documents that record the account of the works, and require digital accounting in open formats. ComputoLab produces all of them.
One clear route through the work: project → price lists → bill of quantities → documents. Always in the same order, with nothing hidden away in panels.

Project documents go out to PDF, Word and Excel. For work in Italy the statutory references are already in place: bill of quantities and project budget as set out in Allegato I.7, labour incidence and safety costs under art. 41 of the D.Lgs. 36/2023.
The free version lets you try everything on screen, with your data safe on your own computer.
Secure payment through Paddle. Invoice included; with a valid VAT number, without VAT under the reverse charge — where to enter your details.
Why a subscription and not a licence you buy once. The way a job is measured and accounted for changes when the rules change, and price lists are reissued every year. The subscription is what keeps the program in step — whoever sells you a perpetual licence sells you the updates separately afterwards.
Prices exclude VAT: VAT is calculated at checkout according to your country. With a valid EU VAT number the invoice is issued without VAT under the reverse charge. Payments are handled securely by Paddle, with an invoice for every purchase. You can move from Free to Pro at any time without losing your projects.
Yes. ComputoLab is an offline desktop app: projects, photos and price lists stay on your computer, and you never need a connection to work. Only the Pro subscription checks in over the internet, roughly once a month: if you stay offline for longer nothing is lost — the app carries on as the free version and returns to Pro the next time you connect. No compulsory cloud, and none of your data is sent anywhere.
Yes. ComputoLab imports price lists from CSV, XLSX and PDF, including a publisher's list you hold a licence for. The file stays on your computer. The Italian public price lists are open data and ship with the app, searchable in every edition.
Yes: ComputoLab is available for macOS (.dmg) and for Windows (.exe). One purchase covers both.
Everything, on screen: bill of quantities, project budget, contract accounting, project documents. The free version follows 1 project and prints to PDF with a watermark, and the project stays yours: the backup copy exports in Free too. For several projects at once, clean printing and Word/Excel export there is Pro.
Nothing is deleted. The app returns to the free feature set and your projects stay where they are, ready to open and print. Renew and you get clean exports, printing without a watermark and unlimited projects back.
It stays readable without the program. The archive is a standard SQLite database, every project exports to a documented JSON file, and documents print to PDF/A, the long-term archiving format. Data export also works in the free version and after a licence expires, and it needs no connection to our servers: this is written into article 4 of the Terms of service, together with an undertaking to give 90 days' notice if the product is discontinued.
A seat is one computer, on macOS or Windows as you prefer. Pro covers one seat; the multi-seat licences cover three or five. A seat can be released and activated on another machine, so replacing a laptop costs you nothing. Above five seats, write to us.
Yes. Every project exports to a documented JSON file and to PDF/A, and bills of quantities import and export in the XPWE interchange format used by the main Italian costing packages, PriMus among them. PriMus® is a registered trademark of ACCA software S.p.A., which is not affiliated with ComputoLab and does not sponsor it.
Yes, every purchase comes with an invoice issued by Paddle, our authorised reseller (Merchant of Record). If you buy as a private individual, the VAT of your country is added at checkout and shown on the invoice. If you buy with a valid EU VAT number, you enter it at checkout and the invoice is issued without VAT under the reverse charge, which you then account for yourself as with any other EU supplier. The details go in during payment: here is where they go, with a picture of the screen.
Yes. ComputoLab follows D.Lgs. 36/2023: bill of quantities, project budget, interim valuations, measurement book and site account register are set out as Italian public works require, and the documents print to PDF/A. A page on the site sets out, article by article, what Allegato II.14 asks of accounting software and what ComputoLab produces.
After the purchase you receive a licence key by email: enter it in Preferences → Licence and Pro activates straight away. From there you work offline: the licence only needs a connection now and again, roughly once a month, to confirm itself. The details are on the Support page.
By credit, debit or prepaid card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), with PayPal, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Payment is handled by Paddle, our authorised reseller, with an invoice for every purchase.
